JEAN YANNE
Jean Yanne (July 18, 1933 – May 23, 2003) was a popular standup comic, actor, director, producer and screenwriter who made his film debut in Alain Jessua’s La Vie à l’envers (1964), and had leading roles in Jean-Luc Godard’s Week End (1967), and Claude Chabrol’s Que la bête meure (1969). He won acclaim for his chilling portrayal of the title character in Chabrol’s Le Boucher (1970), and the Best Actor Award at Cannes for his performance as a philandering film director in Maurice Pialat’s Nous ne vieillirons pas ensemble (1972).
