Colonel Larzac (Jean-Pierre Cassel), an officer in Napoleon’s army, is ordered to escort two women (Barbara Périsson and Alexandre Stewart) across war-torn Portugal to safety in Spain. On route they are attacked by enemy soldiers and forced to fight off bandits, but the greatest threat comes from a traitor within their own camp…

A stirring adventure story from the underrated Kast that plays like a Napoleonic western. Cassel, Périsson and Stewart keep the flames of passion burning, but the stand out performance comes from Maurice Ronet as a disillusioned ex-revolutionary.
