Claude Brasseur (born 15 June, 1936) is best known internationally for playing would-be gangster Arthur in Jean-Luc Godard’s New Wave classic Bande à part (Band of Outsiders, 1964). At home in France he has enjoyed a long and varied career appearing in over 100 films and winning a César Award for Best Actor for his performance in La Guerre des polices (1980).
