In the late-1960s, when Gerard (Benoit Régent) was a young man, he began a relationship with Marianne (Johanna ter Steege). For a time they were deeply in love, but drug dependency and infidelity drove them apart. Now, many years and several relationships later, he hears of the death of Marianne, causing him to reflect on his life and loves.
